Pixi Beauty

Hey Beauties,

I know its been a long damn time since I’ve posted!

Life has gone by and a lot has happened in the last few months but anywhooo..

As a beauty product junkie I am always on a hunt to find the best skincare to handle my oily T-Zone and occasional dry patches. Here are a few products I am obsessing over at the moment. .

Pixi beauty has been a craze among the youtube/blogger world especially the infamous ‘Glow Tonic’.

The first product I picked up from the Skin treats range was the ‘Glow Peel Pads’ I hovered towards this as I didnt have anything like this in my regime already. The glow peel pads contain 20% Gycolic acid and rose water to help exfoliate your skin and get rid of the dead skin cells. By getting rid of the dead skin it will leave you with a fresh glow. You can only use this once a week due to how strong it is and on a day that you don’t use glow tonic. I am loving the results at the moment (its been a few months now, using it once a week). My skin feels so much clearer and softer since using this along side what I already do.

I then went on to try the ‘Glow Mud Cleanser’ as it is clay based it is really good at cleansing out clogged pores which is what I need as I have quite an oily T-Zone. Using this every morning has really helped control the excess oils I get throughout the day. I love the texture of this and how clean and fresh it makes my skin every morning. The only down fall to using this is that it runs out quite quickly, lasted me just over a month and a half.

Last but not least I couldn’t go to the Pixi store without trying the ‘Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner’. This product has been raved about the most in the blogging/youtube world! I am happy to say that it definitely lives up to the hype. It contains 5% Gycolic acid which leaves the skin fresh and glory by gently exfoliating the skin. This bottle lasts ages! It feels really nice on this skin and makes it feel hydrated again.

If you want to know more or to purchase any of these I’ll leave the links below. .

Glow Peel Pads – £24

Glow Mud Cleanser – currently out of stock

Glow Tonic – £18

Let me know if you have tried anything else from the range and any other products you are loving right now!

Beauty Tip #1 | Moroccan Oil.

Hello Beauties!

Hope you’re all having a fab September so far.

So as I am just obsessed with everything beauty related (mainly hoarding beauty products and trying everything out) I do pick up some tips and tricks along the way.

Since Moroccan Oil came onto the beauty scene I have never been without a bottle (or two) sitting on my vanity. I am always changing up my hair style/colour so its not always in the best condition. I also am a slave to my GHD straighteners, I just can’t give it up. Moroccan Oil has been my saviour though. It always leaves my hair feeling moisturised and healthy looking.

I am mixed race (half black Caribbean and half Chinese) so my hair is thick and quite curly naturally. I am always on the hunt for hair products packed with oils and all that good stuff! Due to how much I dye and straighten my hair, my natural curls don’t curl like they used to. From the roots its really curly, almost frizzy and on the ends its just dead straight. *weeps*

This is where Moroccan Oil/Argan Oil comes in. . .

This bad boy is 100% Natural Argan Oil that my best friend picked up from Morocco. Its a little expensive but its worth every penny. This natural stuff doesn’t smell pleasant at all though, so you know its the real deal. Using this leaves my hair soft and healthy. I swear this is what makes my hair stay thick and grow fast too! This is deffiniately my holy grail hair product.

Tip:

  •  Use a generous amount on dry hair and leave it over night.
  • Wash your hair as normal in the morning (or after a few hours)
  • Use a penny sized amount on towel dried hair, leave it for 5-10 minutes before blow drying.
  • Use a peas sized amount on dry/styled hair for a sleek, shiny finish.

If you can’t get hold of 100% Natural Argan oil, Coconut oil is just as good as a leave in just before washing. I wouldn’t recommend using this on dry hair personally as it does leave a greasy residue.

Have you tried this?

Let me know how it went for you 🙂

February Wishlist | Make-Up Edition

IMG_1212No matter how much make-up I buy there is always something new on this never ending wishlist! I thought I would show you all what I’m lusting over this month. You might want to add it to your own wishlist if you haven’t already 🙂

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation | £29.50

I have a small sample size of this and I absolutely love it! I cannot wait to get my hands on a full size.

2. Tom Ford Lipstick | £26

The packaging is just everything! Such a luxurious product I think everyone needs something from Tom Ford.

3. Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer | £21.50

After trying out the foundation I have high hopes for the concealer. I have heard a few good reviews so we will have to wait and see.

4. Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick | £23

Another brand we all need a little something from. The colour range is amazing, this classic red is a must have!

5. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette | £49

I have heard some great reviews on this palette too. I am in need of a good high lighter too.

Review | Glamglow face masks!

If you haven’t heard about Glamglow products yet, where have you been?

IMG_0677

Luckily I am here to give you a little low down on these amazing face masks I have been using lately! I picked up this as a gift set around Christmas time, it was £50 for all three!

I know they’re expensive but I definitely think they are worth the money just as a special pamper treat once in a while. You can buy the smaller jars at £25 for 15ml, which apparently gives you 4 – 5, uses. (I haven’t finished mine so I don’t know how many exactly).

Thirsty Mud, 50ml

The thirsty mud is perfect for de-hydrated skin. I used this on the plane when I went to Hong Kong. You apply this all over your face and let it sink it then let it work its magic. Its an over night treatment so you can wash it off in the morning. It isn’t sticky at all so you wont even notice it on your face while your asleep.

I definitely recommend this mask if you have dry and de-hydrated skin. Even if your skin is oily you can still use this to balance it out. It doesn’t leave you extra oily at all. Your skin is left supple and hydrated after just one use. This one is worth the re-purchase!

Youth Mud, 25ml

This is known as the ‘facial in a jar’. It was created as a quick facial treatment for celebrities before a big event. Now everyone can enjoy that same glowy look with a face mask in just 10 minutes!

It honestly does leave your skin with a lovely glow and soft to touch days after! I love the tingly sensation as you apply the masks, it lets you know that its working magic on your skin. Applying make up after was such a breeze!

Super Mud, 25ml

This is a clearing treatment for all skin concerns! It cleans out the pores and leaves your skin looking very clean and clear!

I bought this with me on holiday as I nearly always break out when I travel. I absolutely love this face mask. It calmed my skin down instantly and left it feeling really soft. I love this mask out of all three of them. Definitely will be re-purchasing this in the 50ml when I run out.

I hope you enjoyed this quick read!
Make sure you try these masks out for yourself and let me know what you think?

DIY Hair Mask

Hey girlies,

Last week I decided to treat my hair to a DIY hair mask. I love love love hair masks especially for my bleached blonde hair.

I have a few favourite hair masks already but I really wanted to see if a DIY hair mask would give it an extra boost of goodness.

There are so many DIY hair masks out there, I went for the Banana and Avocado mix.

For extra moisture I added 100% Organic Argan oil.

2015/01/img_0482.jpg

Banana contains vitamins, antitoxins and potassium. This is amazing for dry and brittle hair. It strengthens the hair follicles preventing breakage and split ends. Banana can maintain the hairs natural elasticity and promotes healthy hair growth.

Avocado is loaded with tons of vitamins, natural oils that give your hair lustre and shine. It is also known to nourish the hair and protect it from breakage and split ends.

2015/01/img_0481.jpg

I used one avocado and mushed it together with one banana. I mixed it all together by hand which was a big mistake! You want the mix to be really smooth with no bits in at all because it is a nightmare to get the little bits out. Trust me! I made that mistake already *cries*. My little sister had to help me get the little bits of banana out, bless her!

2015/01/img_0532-0.jpgI added about two table spoons of 100% Organic Argan oil. If you know me you know that I love to try anything that contains argan oil. I use the Argan oil by Organix in my hair while its wet and after i’ve straightened it. I swear by it, it really leaves my hair silky smooth and healthy. The argan oil will help with moisture and nourish your hair. 2015/01/img_0491.jpgHere is my hair after using the mask. I didn’t notice the results until after I blow-dried and styled my hair. My hair felt strong and soft and the same time. One thing I would do differently is proportion control. I think I would add more argan oil and less banana to get extra noticeable moisture. I will try other masks and find a perfect one for my hair. Hope you found this helpful.

What are your favourite DIY hair masks?

Lip Product Addicts Tag

Hey lovelies,

I am back with another lip product post with a little twist. This is the “lip product addict” tag (that was a mouthful lol). I hope you enjoy this post. My next post will not be lip product related I promise! I am open to any post suggestions too 🙂

 Here goes..

IMG_3611

1. Favourite balm/treatment?

My favourite lip balm at the moment is by Nivea the vanilla scent, purely for the smell * heart eyes * .. oh, and its moisturizing on the lips!

 2. Best eye-catching red?

The BEST red has to be Ruby Woo! It looks amazing on anyone and everyone. The perfect red shade for day and night in my opinion.

3. Best luxury and best drug store?

I don’t even have any “luxury” lip products. A non drugstore lipstick I do have (apart from mac) is a Nars lipstick in the shade Valparaiso, a dark red/berry. This was my go-to berry shade in the winter. It stayed matte and non drying all day too!

Now for drugstore lipsticks I cant decide between the Revlon Matte Colourburst *heart eyes* and the Bourjois Rouge edition velvet lipstick *heart eyes x 2*. They are both amazing in there own ways! You must try them out for yourself girls! The only downfall I would say is the small colour range..hurry up and make more!!

4. Best MAC lipstick?

Apart from Ruby Woo, my other FAVE is Up the Amp! I just love the purple shade as it goes well with my complexion and looks amazing with a tan. It isn’t your everyday pink or nude but I like to wear it when my outfit is plane and simple. Having a bold lip makes the outfit that much better!

 5. The most disappointing?

The most disappointing lipstick I have is the Sleek Matte me. I purchased this out of curiosity. I hadn’t heard or seen any reviews so I thought I would give it a go. I picked up a summery coral colour ‘party pink’. I love the packaging though. When I applied this onto the lips it was hard to get a nice solid colour. Every time I swiped the brush over my lips it would take off the previous coat. I didn’t bother with it again after that.

 6. Liner, yes or no?

I used to wear eyeliner every single day. But now I only use liner on a night out if I can be bothered to perfect the winged look. I’m usually running late on a night out so I give liner a miss.

 7. Best gloss?

I don’t really wear glosses although I am trying to get into them. I love the nude/pastel pink look at the moment. The best gloss I do have is the Clarins instant light natural lip perfecter (another mouthful). Its lovely alone and on top of lipstick.

 8. Something extra?

I think I am starting to get a little obsessed with lip liners. I have one too many nude liners and a few other staple shades. I tend to use the nude/pink colour all over my lips. I love the matte finish it gives and it lasts for hours without drying my lips!

I could talk about lip products for hours! Let me know if you have tried any of these or anything you would recommend 🙂
