Beauty Tip #1 | Moroccan Oil.

Hello Beauties!

Hope you’re all having a fab September so far.

So as I am just obsessed with everything beauty related (mainly hoarding beauty products and trying everything out) I do pick up some tips and tricks along the way.

Since Moroccan Oil came onto the beauty scene I have never been without a bottle (or two) sitting on my vanity. I am always changing up my hair style/colour so its not always in the best condition. I also am a slave to my GHD straighteners, I just can’t give it up. Moroccan Oil has been my saviour though. It always leaves my hair feeling moisturised and healthy looking.

I am mixed race (half black Caribbean and half Chinese) so my hair is thick and quite curly naturally. I am always on the hunt for hair products packed with oils and all that good stuff! Due to how much I dye and straighten my hair, my natural curls don’t curl like they used to. From the roots its really curly, almost frizzy and on the ends its just dead straight. *weeps*

This is where Moroccan Oil/Argan Oil comes in. . .

This bad boy is 100% Natural Argan Oil that my best friend picked up from Morocco. Its a little expensive but its worth every penny. This natural stuff doesn’t smell pleasant at all though, so you know its the real deal. Using this leaves my hair soft and healthy. I swear this is what makes my hair stay thick and grow fast too! This is deffiniately my holy grail hair product.

  •  Use a generous amount on dry hair and leave it over night.
  • Wash your hair as normal in the morning (or after a few hours)
  • Use a penny sized amount on towel dried hair, leave it for 5-10 minutes before blow drying.
  • Use a peas sized amount on dry/styled hair for a sleek, shiny finish.

If you can’t get hold of 100% Natural Argan oil, Coconut oil is just as good as a leave in just before washing. I wouldn’t recommend using this on dry hair personally as it does leave a greasy residue.

Have you tried this?

Let me know how it went for you 🙂

DIY Hair Mask

Hey girlies,

Last week I decided to treat my hair to a DIY hair mask. I love love love hair masks especially for my bleached blonde hair.

I have a few favourite hair masks already but I really wanted to see if a DIY hair mask would give it an extra boost of goodness.

There are so many DIY hair masks out there, I went for the Banana and Avocado mix.

For extra moisture I added 100% Organic Argan oil.

Banana contains vitamins, antitoxins and potassium. This is amazing for dry and brittle hair. It strengthens the hair follicles preventing breakage and split ends. Banana can maintain the hairs natural elasticity and promotes healthy hair growth.

Avocado is loaded with tons of vitamins, natural oils that give your hair lustre and shine. It is also known to nourish the hair and protect it from breakage and split ends.

I used one avocado and mushed it together with one banana. I mixed it all together by hand which was a big mistake! You want the mix to be really smooth with no bits in at all because it is a nightmare to get the little bits out. Trust me! I made that mistake already *cries*. My little sister had to help me get the little bits of banana out, bless her!

2015/01/img_0532-0.jpgI added about two table spoons of 100% Organic Argan oil. If you know me you know that I love to try anything that contains argan oil. I use the Argan oil by Organix in my hair while its wet and after i’ve straightened it. I swear by it, it really leaves my hair silky smooth and healthy. The argan oil will help with moisture and nourish your hair. 2015/01/img_0491.jpgHere is my hair after using the mask. I didn’t notice the results until after I blow-dried and styled my hair. My hair felt strong and soft and the same time. One thing I would do differently is proportion control. I think I would add more argan oil and less banana to get extra noticeable moisture. I will try other masks and find a perfect one for my hair. Hope you found this helpful.

What are your favourite DIY hair masks?

Boots Haul!

Hello lovelies,
I’m back with a quick Haul for you :)
Whenever I go into Boots I always get sucked into there 3 for 2 deals. Its like the shelves are glowing with products singing “buy me buy me”. Here are some make up and hair bits I picked up recently.

(Starting from the top left Sleek Blusher in Rose Gold, Revlon Shimmer brick in Rose Glow, Erase concealer, Argon Oil by Organix and Argan Oil Hair mask by Lee Stafford. Centre going down is Thick and Fast mascara by Soap and Glory, Matte me lipstick by Sleek, Brow Wizz by Anastasia Beverly Hills and Dip brow by Anastasia Beverly Hills.)

So here are the goodies I picked up recently. Lets start off in order as listed above.

Sleek | Rose gold blusher (£4.49) – Everyone raves about this as a dupe for Nars’ Orgasm blush so I wanted to try it out too. It is a beautiful peachy toned blush with flecks of gold running through. I love Sleek blushers and tend to gravitate towards the peachy tones so this was a perfect pick.

Revlon | Rose glow highlighter (£8.99) – With summer fast approaching everyone wants that nice glow and bronzed skin look. Revlon have come out with these shimmer and bronzer bricks. I picked up the highlighter as the bronzer was sold out at the time. My love for highlighters has just begun! This shimmer brick looks gorgeous on the skin. You can use the colours individually or all at once with a swipe of a brush.

Maybelline | Nude Eraser eye concealer (£7.99)   – I have heard a lot about this concealer and how it conceals dark circles completely. So far it has been lovely to apply, it has a nice creamy consistency and it is the perfect shade for me. I don’t think this covers dark circles completely but it does a good job. I am still testing it out in different ways so stay tuned for a full review at a later date!

Organix | Argan Oil (£4.99) – I have tried a few hair oils and nothing so far compares to my favourite Argan Oil by Moroccan Oil! (Purchase from here). The Organix Argan Oil is pretty nice on my hair. It leaves it soft unlike the other ones I have tried. We’ll have to see if I end up repurchasing this or not.

Lee Stafford | Argan oil mask (£14.99)  – Honestly, it was the hot pink packaging that made me pick this up! Of course I had to take it home as it has my favourite argan oil in it too. I have only used it once so far and it made my hair feel so silky smooth. It smells amazing too!

Soap and Glory | Thick and fast (£10.50) – This was a random purchase. I was in need a new mascara and just picked this up as the packaging claimed to give thick and longer lashes. Such a disappointment this was. I only used it once but it was enough to put me off. ☹

Sleek | Party Pink Matte me lipstick (£4.99) – I seriously love Matte lip colours, 95% of my lipstick collection is matte! This is the perfect summer lipstick so I cannot wait to wear this out. It goes on like a gloss and dries completely matte.

Finally the last two I purchased when I was away in Europe. I was sooo happy to find the Anastasia Beverly hills brand there.

Anastasia Beverley hills | Brow Wiz (£15.50)  – This is definitely my HOLY GRAIL eyebrow pencil. As I have such sparse brows I need a pencil that is light and as close to my hair colour as possible. This is the perfect natural shade on my brows. There is quite a wide range of colours for everyone to choose from. They seriously need to bring Anastasia products into London stores ASAP.

Anastasia Beverley hills | Dip brow pomade (£15) – This product has got beauty bloggers going crazy. With a load of mixed reviews, I had to try this out myself. I was hesitant to order this online as I didn’t know which colour to choose, so when I saw this I was excited to purchase it finally. I have used it a few times now and I can’t decide whether I love it or hate it. It isn’t easy to apply when you have brows as sparse as mine. You also have to be carful not to build it up too much or you will have two brown blocks above your eyes! I really want to love this product as it has great staying power and it is waterproof apparently! If you have good brows to start with I think you will love this product. For me, I’m still undecided.

That is all for my boots haul!

I have linked everything up if you would like to purchase any of these products.

Some items are not on the boots website for some reason but you can definitely find them in boots too.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Leave me some feedback on what you would like to see in the future.
Thank you for reading my lovelies.
